French drug major Sanofi (Euronext: SAN) on Friday announced the appointment of Greg Irace, currently president and chief executive of Sanofi's US operations, to the newly created role of senior vice president, Global Services.
In his new role, Mr Irace will lead the global information systems function, be responsible for shared support functions across all Sanofi businesses in North America and play a key role in the development of a global strategy for shared services. He will report to Jerome Contamine, executive vice president, chief financial officer, and will continue to be a member of the global management Committee. He will be based in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
Additionally, Anne Whitaker will join Sanofi as president, North America, Pharmaceuticals, effective September 1, 2011. She will report to Hanspeter Spek, president, global operations and will join the global management committee. She will be based in Bridgewater, New Jersey. Ms Whitaker joins Sanofi from GlaxoSmithKline, where she was senior vice president and business unit head, Cardiovascular, Metabolic and Urology, since 2009.
