French drug major Sanofi (Euronext: SAN) yesterday announced the appointment of Peter Guenter, as senior vice president, Europe, effective July 15, 2011. He will report to Hanspeter Spek, president, global operations, and will join the Management Committee.
Mr Guenter, who is currently general manager for the multi-country-organization for Germany, Switzerland and Austria, will succeed Belen Garijo, who will leave the group and take a global leadership role in another pharmaceutical company.
Mr Spek said: “The depth of knowledge and experience Peter gained through his previous management roles in Germany and in Europe, as well as his general business acumen make him ideally suited to lead Sanofi’s operations in Europe.”
