Takeda to work with Charles River on drug discovery

American contract research organization (CRO) Charles River (NYSE: CRL) and Tokyo-based pharma giant Takeda Pharmaceutical (TYO: 4502) have inked a multi-year drug discovery collaboration deal.

The firms plan to launch multiple integrated programs across Takeda’s four central therapeutic areas: oncology, gastroenterology, neuroscience, and rare diseases.

The goal of the collaboration is to deliver pre-clinical candidates that Takeda can advance into clinical development.
