Trump’s tariffs on branded pharma products revealed

After months of threats, posturing, rumors and industry concern, US President Donald Trump has finally revealed details of the tariffs that will be applied to branded pharmaceutical products entering the USA.

Early Friday, President Trump posted on the Truth Social platform to explain the level of the tariffs that these imports will be hit with, and important exemptions.

The post states: “Starting October 1st, 2025, we will be imposing a 100% tariff on any branded or patented pharmaceutical product, unless a company is building their pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in America.
