Pharmion gains rights to Innohep from LEO
Pharmion Corp of the USA has acquired exclusive US marketing rights fromDenmark's LEO Pharmaceuticals to Innohep (tinzaparin sodium injection), a once-daily low-molecular weight heparin for the treatment of acute symptomatic deep vein thrombosis with or without pulmonary embolism when administered in conjunction with warfarin sodium (such as Coumadin) in hospitalized patients.
The product is currently approved in 54 countries outside the United States with global 2001 sales of approximately $100 million.
