Pozen's coated aspirin tablet shows less GI damage
US drugmaker Pozen says that its drug candidate PA32520 (enteric coated aspirin 325mg with immediate-release omeprazole 20mg) may cause less upper gastrointestinal mucosal damage usually associated with higher doses of aspirin therapy, and may allow for treatment with higher doses of the commonly-used blood thinner (up to 325mg/daily) to maximize cardiovascular protection.
