Quest Diagnostics has signed a definitive agreement to acquire fellow USfirm Clinical Diagnostic Services, which operates a testing laboratory and over 50 patient service centers in New York and New Jersey. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed, but Kenneth Freeman, Quest's chief executive, said that it will be accretive to earnings per share in 2002. His company has annual revenues of around $3.4 billion.
