Richard Gonzalez, currently president and chief operating officer, medical products group, at US health care major Abbott Laboratories, has assumed the role of president and COO for all operations of the corporation. This follows the decision of Jeffrey Leiden to step down from his post of president and COO, pharmaceutical products group, to pursue other career interests.
