Swiss drug major Roche has entered into an agreement with Plexxikon, a privately-held US biotechnology firm, to develop and commercialize a second novel kinase inhibitor, PLX5568, as an oral therapeutic treatment for polycystic kidney disease. Roche previously licensed PLX4032, an investigational targeted cancer therapy, from Plexxikon in 2006.
