- Hoffmann-La Roche's Ro 45-2081 (p55-IgG) may reduce 28-daymortality in patients with severe sepsis and early septic shock, according to interim data, reports Reuters. Three doses of Ro 45-2081 or placebo were administered to 500 patients. When patients with severe sepsis or early septic shock were analyzed separately, treatment with the highest dose (0.083mg/kg) was linked to a 36% reduction in all-cause mortality.
