Sciele completes Ph III drool-drug trial

US drugmaker Sciele Pharma has completed a Phase III safety trial of liquid formulation gylcopyrrolate in the treatment of moderate-to-severe drooling in pediatric patients.

The firm notes that the condition often results from underlying neurological disorders, such as cerebral palsy. Glycopyrrolate received orphan drug designation from the US Food and Drug Administration in June, 2006.
