Shevardnadze Vetoes Georgian Pharma Law
Georgia's president Eduard Shevardnadze has vetoed a new pharmacy law,declaring it to be anticonstitutional and violating the principles of free competition and entrepreneurship.
The veto, which was requested by members of parliament, set requirements of space for pharmacies which only sell medicines and those which also manufacture them, and also required a distance of 500 meters between pharmacy premises.
