SkyePharma achieves Flutiform study goals

UK drug-delivery specialist SkyePharma has achieved the primary endpoints in its third Phase III efficacy study evaluating Flutiform (fluticasone and formoterol) for the treatment of mild-to-moderate asthma in adolescent and adult patients, completing the original core clinical trial program.

The study was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group, stratified, multicenter trial comparing the safety and efficacy of Flutiform versus the administration of either placebo or fluticasone or formoterol alone in adolescent and adult patients with moderate-to-severe asthma.
