Shares in UK drug-delivery firm SkyePharma shot up 14% after arthritis drug Lodotra (prednisone) was recommended for approval in 15 European countries when the reference member state's local authority for the application, Germany's BfArM, adopted a positive opinion on the drug. The product is produced by SkyePharma in partnership with Swiss company Nitec using the former's Geoclock technology. The UK firm is set to receive around a 5% royalty on sales, according to Piper Jaffray analysts.
