The presidents of a number of Spanish drug companies have spoken out in defence of the pharmaceutical industry in the wake of stock market problems worldwide. Their aim is said to be to calm the market.
The Zeltia group is the latest to send a note to the market regulatory body, the CNMV, defending the position of the company and emphasizing its strong commercial prospects in 2008. The Zeltia statement follows one by Faes Farma a day earlier. Zeltia's share price recovered 1.9% after publication of its note to close at 4.73 euros, while Faes ended up at 7.28 euros.
