Strong data on Merck Serono's Phenoptin
Merck Serono says that its drug candidate for phenylketonuria, Phenoptin (sapropterin dihydrochloride), caused a significant increase in phenylalanine tolerance as well as a reduction in blood phenylalanine levels. The Phase III data also showed that Phenoptin was well tolerated in younger PKU patients who were under dietary control, stated the German drugmaker.
