Strong early data for Sylentis' ocular pain RNAi drug candidate

27 May 2009

Sylentis, an RNAi specialist firm owned by Spain's Zeltia Group, presented strong data on its compounds for ophthalmic indications at the  2009 Congress of the Association for Research in Vision and  Ophthalmology, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The  prophylactic effect of these compounds was higher than the  previously-described effect in this model for drugs currently used for  the treatment of the condition. In addition, a product for ocular pain  associated with dry-eye syndrome showed greater analgesic effect than  the reference standard analgesic capsazepine.
