Sun extends expiration date of Taro tender offer

India's Sun Pharmaceutical Industries says its subsidiary, Alkaloida, has extended the expiration date of the tender offer to purchase all  outstanding shares of Israel's Taro to 5pm, New York time, on January  30, 2009, unless further extended or earlier terminated. The extension  is meant to comply with a continuing order issued by the Supreme Court  of Israel temporarily prohibit closing until it issues a decision on the  appeal of the litigation commenced by Taro (Marketletters  passim).
