Taiho licenses Japanese rights to Yondelis
Spanish drugmaker PharmaMar SA has licensed the Japanese rights to its cancer drug Yondelis (trabectedin) to local firm Taiho Pharmaceutical.
As part of the deal, Taiho receives a license to develop and commercialize Yondelis in Japan, and PharmaMar receives an initial payment of 1.0 billion yen ($10.3 million), as well as future payments and double-digit royalties on sales. All development and marketing costs of Yondelis in Japan will be covered by Taiho.
