The UK government has announced a trade agreement with the USA. The UK-US Economic Prosperity Deal was agreed on Thursday May 8 with further details released on Friday May 9.
Responding to the development, Richard Torbett, chief executive of the trade group Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), said: “We thank the government for its continued efforts that have led to this essential first-step agreement with the US.”
Although pharma was not mentioned at all as US President Donald Trump and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer unveiled the 'agreement in principle', as it was described by the office of the US Trade Representative (USTR).
