Trophos begins Phase IIa trial on liver disease candidate
French biopharmaceutical firm Trophos has enrolled the first patients in a Phase IIa clinical trial of its TRO19622 candidate for the treatment of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis.
The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, single-dose trial will compare efficacy of the agent to placebo after four weeks of treatment in 30 patients with NASH. It will assess the safety, tolerability and short-term effect of a 500mg once-daily dose of TRO19662 .
