UK's PMCPA names six firms in violation of Code

Six drugmakers have been "named and shamed" by the UK Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority, which applies to members of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry. The six firms are the Anglo-Swedish AstraZeneca, the UK units of Japan's Takeda, France's Sanofi-Aventis and the USA-based Procter & Gamble, Pfizer and Eli Lilly.

Brief details of all cases where companies are ruled in breach of Clause 2 of the Code are advertised by the PMCPA in the British Medical Journal and the Pharmaceutical Journal. The firms were also ordered to issue a corrective statement.
