- Uzbekistan's pharmaceutical industry is to receive investment of $40million in 1997, reports New Europe, coming in the main from three major projects. These are: a venture being established by Indian company Cora Healthcare, which will open an infusions plant in Tashkent; Saico of Italy, which is building an infusions plant in Kashi; and an Uzbek-Russian joint venture, Mediz, which will establish a facility for disposable infusions and drips.
