Viagra on sale in China from next month

China's State Bureau of Pharmaceutical Supervision and Management hasapproved the sale of Pfizer's impotence treatment Viagra (sildenafil), a company official has told Reuters.

It will be available from August, reports the Shanghai Daily newspaper, noting that medical experts conducting clinical trials of almost 600 men in China have recommended a price of no more than 100 renminbi ($12.08) per tablet, and that it be prescription-only. In April, when Pfizer said it was applying for Viagra's approval in China, the firm said the drug would be made at its plant in the northeastern city of Dalian.
