Vice Chairman Dies At Ares-Serono

Fabio Bertarelli, vice chairman of the board of Ares-Serono andchief executive until January 1996, has died. Ernesto Bertarelli, who has held the position of chief executive since 1996, will continue in this position. Meantime, the company has appointed Francisco Rubio Sandi to the newly-created position of senior executive vice president for worldwide corporate marketing. His previous position as senior executive vice president Europe will be succeeded by Rob Koremans.
