US drugmaker XenoPort has exercised the option contained in its deal with UK drug major GlaxoSmithKline to co-promote and share profits and losses from the potential future sales of Solzira (gabapentin enacarbil) extended-release tablets in the USA. The agent is the subject of a New Drug Application currently under review by the US Food and Drug Administration for moderate-to-severe restless legs syndrome.
