Chiesi launches Cambridge Labs' Xenazina in Italy

Cambridge Laboratories, a privately-owned specialty UK drugmaker, says that Italian distribution partner Chiesi has now launched Xenazina (tetrabenazine; also known as Nitoman in Germany and other key European territories and Xenazine in the UK and other markets) on its domestic market, following its approval from the Agenzia Italiana del Farmaco on August 14. The agent has been cleared for the treatment of movement disorders associated with Huntington's disease and for moderate-to-severe tardive dyskinesia, both conditions for which there is major unmet medical need. The dopamine depleting drug was exclusively licensed by Cambridge to Chiesi in 2003 for commercialization in Italy.
